As network engineers we have always done scripting but no one mentioned it or none of the vendors pushed it. Now most of the vendors are pushing it but I don't see it as a major change. With MPLS the provider gets to deal with the customer routes. But what if you wanted to go over the MPLS but you didn't want the provider to see any of your private routes? You can run DMVPN over MPLS and of course IPsec the DMVPN.

Even though it is changing, certain things will always (Or for a long time) will be there, such as routing, Security, SP, Wireless.
