What's the idea behind running dmvn over Mpls ?

With MPLS the provider gets to deal with the customer routes. But what if you wanted to go over the MPLS but you didn't want the provider to see any of your private routes? You can run DMVPN over MPLS and of course IPsec the DMVPN.

What is the advantage over layer 2 because with layer 2 the customer hide own routes from service provider

Sure, but the cost here is extending L2 over WAN. Which is never a good thing, given L2 has it's own problems - flooding, troubleshooting and (potential for) loops.

We're moving away slowly from extending L2 at all, and L2 islands should be ideally reduced to one host, or maybe even one container if that's virtualized environment. That way all you do stays at L3, and with L3 you have a lot of tools and visibility for the traffic - including tools to engineer paths for the traffic, load balance it and so on.

it you want to go with MPLS then you can encrypt your data with GETVPN.
