Changing your mind in Tyrael's Boons could get expensive. The Season 16 PTR description puts the cost of removing a single point at 5,000,000 gold, so a few changes could wipe out a healthy reserve. That's worth thinking about before you spend anything. The tree also offers a way to improve D4 items you've already found: Greater Temper turns a Tempered Affix into a Greater Affix, though each attempt calls for 30 Scrolls of Restoration and 1,000 Obducite. For anyone chasing a stronger build, those two costs make planning matter.
Make Your Points Count
You've got a reported maximum of 132 points to work with, enough to take four of six available selections across the four paths. You can't grab every reward, so think about what you'll actually do with your character. Scent of Gold looks useful early on, with extra gold and experience to help you level and build up some cash. Its branches also offer different material and drop bonuses. Trash for Treasure becomes more tempting when you're ready to work on endgame gear: it cuts Alchemist transmuting costs, offers ways to collect more materials, and opens the Greater Temper recipe.
Two Routes for Finding Gear
Curious Addition changes what you can get from the Purveyor of Curiosities. Depending on your selections, you can improve your odds of receiving a second item, unlock different item types, or aim for better quality. One option raises the chance of Ancestral items but makes purchases much more expensive. Merchant of Mystery takes a different approach. It adds a Torment merchant selling caches for Forgotten Souls, with upgrades that improve access to Ancestral Caches or let you use Runes and Gems for purchases. If you're not regularly playing Torment yet, you might get more immediate value elsewhere.
Plan for the Season Ahead
Tyrael's Boons is described as an extra layer alongside Seasonal Blessings, rather than a replacement. Seasonal characters can use it without owning the Lord of Hatred expansion, according to the PTR details. Still, don't treat every number as settled: costs, selections, and rewards may change before release, so check the patch notes before committing to a build. If you're looking for another way to prepare, U4GM is a platform offering game currency and items, and you can browse u4gm D4 items to see what's available. Keep in mind that seasonal characters start fresh, so resources earned by an Eternal character won't give your new seasonal character a head start.
