Recovery Skills in MapleStory Classic World from U4GM

Post by glico »

Orange Slimes offer a convenient Halloween stop in MapleStory Classic World, but convenience does not necessarily make them a good way to gain levels. If you are weighing time and supplies alongside MS Classic World Mesos, treat these town encounters as an opportunity to collect quest candy and healing items rather than a replacement for regular training.

Choose a town and watch the clock

The event runs from October 28 at 12:00 AM UTC through November 18 at 11:59 PM UTC in 2026. Characters must be at least level 10 to participate, and Orange Slimes can appear in Henesys, Ellinia, Kerning City, and Perion.

Location is only part of the decision. An Orange Slime disappears three minutes after appearing if it is not defeated, so a crowded channel can leave little room to secure a target. Before committing to a longer hunt, consider these practical steps.

Start in a participating town that fits your current travel plans.
Check quieter channels if several players are pursuing the same targets.
Leave room in your inventory for quest candy and healing supplies.
Return to another activity if finding available targets takes too much time.

Windia has 40 channels, giving players several places to look. Switching channels is still a choice with a time cost, so it makes more sense when you need event drops than when your only goal is experience.

Know what the fight demands

Each Orange Slime is level 20 and has 1,855 HP and 30 MP. It awards 64 EXP when defeated, but its large health pool makes that reward less appealing than it first appears. Comparable monsters on Victoria Island generally have much less health, making regular training maps a better choice for experience in many cases.

The slime has 86 weapon attack, 85 accuracy, 6 avoidability, and 5 speed. Its physical and magic defense are both zero, and its attack element is neutral. A single hit must deal at least 300 damage to knock it back, so characters whose attacks fall short should not count on knockback to control the encounter.

Level 10 eligibility is not a promise that every eligible character will find the fight quick or comfortable. Consider both your damage and the supplies you spend before staying in town for repeated encounters.

Separate quest candy from useful supplies

Halloween Candy counts toward Malady's Halloween quest, which requires 100 candies. This quest item cannot be traded and expires when the event ends. Eligible regular monsters can also drop it, so you do not have to abandon a productive training session solely to collect candy in town.

Orange Slimes may also drop three different healing candies. These items are tradable, do not expire, and stack up to 100 per inventory slot. Choose which ones to keep based on the resource your character uses most.

Red Malady's Candy restores 600 HP.
Blue Malady's Candy restores 450 MP.
Green Malady's Candy restores 300 HP and 300 MP.
Each healing candy sells to an NPC for one meso.

Published drop rates are unavailable, so a session may not provide the particular supplies you want. Their low NPC value makes using or trading them worth considering instead of selling them to a vendor.

Match recovery items to your skills

Recovery skills can make the healing candies more useful. At level 15, a Warrior's Improved HP Recovery raises Red candy restoration to about 900 HP and the HP portion of Green candy to about 450. A Magician with level 15 Improved MP Recovery receives approximately 560 MP from a Blue candy.

Before another town hunt, check how much quest candy you still need and whether your character can use the healing drops efficiently. If you are also considering MSCW Mesos for sale, keep that separate from the event decision. Hunt Orange Slimes when their drops justify the time and supplies, then return to regular monsters when experience becomes the priority.
