How much can going paperless actually help the environment?

I’ve been thinking about reducing paper use in our office, but I’m unsure if it makes a noticeable environmental impact.

I was skeptical too, until I read an article on open-web.info about the environmental benefits of going paperless. By switching to digital documents, PDFs, and eFaxing, our office dramatically reduced its paper consumption. This not only cut down on waste but also decreased the energy and resources used to produce and transport paper. Another surprising benefit was the reduction in office clutter and storage needs, which meant less furniture and space consumption. Over time, I noticed that our workflow became smoother, and we could collaborate with clients digitally without creating unnecessary paper trails. Even small offices can make a real difference, and every paperless decision contributes to lower carbon emissions. Personally, I felt more responsible as a business owner and motivated to continue improving our sustainability practices.

Producing one sheet of A4 paper requires about 10 liters of water. Multiply that by the billions of pages printed every day, and the resource demand becomes staggering
